General photographic archive

Andrea Benetti began photographing in the early 1980s with a Nikkormat, a manual camera, manufactured by Nikon. He learned photography by attending the studio of Professor Marco Caroli, a Bolognese photographer and historian. Despite his extensive photographic archive, Benetti has set up only one socially engaged photographic exhibition in recent years, in the Manica Lunga room of the Palazzo D’Accursio, Bologna, portraying dozens of women’s eyes and enlarging the photographs of the looks five times their natural size (100 x 50 cm), to raise awareness of the issue of violence against women.
