“An unusual exploration into velocity”
from an idea by Andrea Benetti

Andrea Benetti’s book entitled “An unusual exploration into velocity” of its kind. In fact, it began as a book on philosophy and art, and then opened up to prestigious contributions from the pens of university professors who are among the most accredited in their teaching doctrine. The publication is about speed, and Andrea Benetti, creator of the project, draws some speculative lines on speed, in relation to the evolution of successive civilizations over time. He theorizes three types of speed (natural, mechanical and absolute), which he represents with twelve works. He then included three photographs by photographer Luca Vezzoso, one for each type of speed and a sculptural work by Lanfranco Di Rico to represent speed in relation to man. The second part brings in professors who wrote a short essay on how speed has affected and does affect, each in his or her subject of teaching. We have speed in politics, Law, medicine, music, philosophy, chemistry, physics, etc. The project is sponsored by international bodies and organizations and is printed in two languages (English and Italian). Introducing Andrea Benetti’s pictorial work are four important critiques by as many famous critics and art historians.
